If you've ever lived in a humid climate, you know just how wild the mold situation can get.

What begins as a small growth of colorful, furry spores will soon grow into carpet covering anything not made of stone or plastic.

These alien invaders will stop at nothing until they've transformed your home into a weird landscape of fuzzy growth.

While most people avoid mold for obvious reasons, Elin Thomas embraces it as her artistic inspiration. And what's more, she goes out of her way to actually cover her stuff in the colorful spores.

But before you question Thomas's mental health, we'd like to point out that her moldy creations aren't made with real species of mold.

Thomas creates her spore colonies from soft felting material and wool fluff, all detailed with careful embroidery. She makes faux mold bags, petri dishes, rings, and even moleskins.

While most people are actively avoiding mold growth on their stuff, Thomas's good-humored creations do just the opposite. And we love it.

Find all her creative spore designs on Etsy.
